Wedding Preparation

September 1, 2016

I am grateful for the health to witness the wedding of our final child to get married, Jeffrey. The wedding will be on Friday, Sept. 16, just two weeks away.

I have the strength to still be working at my job as Headmaster of Trinity Christian School. The question, “When are you going to retire?” is getting more frequent now. As long as I have the strength and health to go in every day, I want to continue. The opportunity for influence that I have is one of the reasons the Lord has sustained me.

I continue to take a maintenance dose of Revlimid every day, and I have my blood checked on a regular basis to monitor my status.  My quality of life is good.

I am so grateful for the strength and health the Lord is giving me. Just two days ago, I was given an abbreviated drivers license renewal physical exam by a clinic doctor, and he mentioned having a friend who had recently passed from Multiple Myeloma.

I have started a spiritual support group called “C” Jesus. (Get it?…) Our first meeting was last night. We only had three in attendance, but I trust it will grow.

Much heartfelt thanks to all our friends who have prayed for my health. I am indebted to you. God is the strength of my heart.

    Oh Dean,

Hard to know words to say. I’m in Fl and currently reading a book “Some Gave All” about 4 young people who spent their lives on the mission field. You are doing the same for the young people at your school. Not only them -you are a beacon of light – showing Jesus to everyone whose life you touch.

So thrilled for your family as you share the excitement of Jeff’s upcoming wedding.

I looked for a used car to buy when I was here in March and again this trip and hoped to drive back to MO, stopping to see you and the family. However, both times my car of choice (2013 Lexus RX 350–has to be Satin Champagne color) sold just before I got to the dealership (once I even had funds transferred). So I’m rethinking/praying about this. (I was trying to follow in the path of my Uncle David & Aunts Addie & Miriam who have driven luxury cars -Cadillacs). Meanwhile, I continue to drive my Honda–which is too small for my terrific cousins!

Dad – about the same. Eleanor – has dr. apptmt as first step towards possible hip replacement (if that turns out to be the problem). Alan/Valerie – well – enjoying grandchildren and traveling around to preach. Carrie/Tom – enjoying new home in Northern MN amongst the woods where they watch the wildlife.

Brian – recently down to Nicaragua. He’ll return in November – taking a trip to remote villages (travel by car then canoe) to install solar panels for the pastors to have electricity (which draws people to the services). He has flourished under our current pastor.

So proud of our wonderful heritage and family – Grandma Demos’ prayers availed much! When I was 12 years old, I thought you “Demos boys” were terrific –and still do!

Love and prayers for you and family, Ellie
